Human Trafficking Allegations Against Andrew Tate

Bogdan Stancu, Andrew Tate’s bodyguard, spoke of the numerous women who visited Tate’s Bucharest house, believing they were in a romantic relationship with him. This behavior, known as the “loverboy method,” is considered a crime by authorities.

Stancu told the BBC that he continues to support Tate, who is in jail while Romanian police investigate him. However, this situation is far more serious than a simple misunderstanding. Umar Zeb, a senior partner at the law firm J D Spicer Zeb Solicitors, said that the “loverboy” strategy is a common tactic in human trafficking cases.

It works by “ensnaring vulnerable victims,” Zeb said, and “tricking them into believing they are entering into a loving relationship.” Once the victims are emotionally attached, they are coerced into various exploitative measures, including human trafficking for the sex industry. This form of entrapment is “much quicker” than it used to be, Zeb said, as victims are threatened through blackmail and violence.

When DIICOT arrested Tate, his brother Tristan, and two Romanian women for forming a criminal group, Stancu still spoke of his loyalty to Tate. He called the women who have come forward with allegations “young and stupid.” Tate’s lawyer Eugen Vidineac maintains that his clients are innocent and disputes that there is any evidence against them. He argued that what Tate has said on social media should not be used as evidence against him.
