Texas sues Aylo (PornHub) for ignoring age, health warning laws
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken legal action against the online adult entertainment company Aylo, aiming to enforce a new Texas law requiring age verification and health warnings on pornographic websites. Filed in Austin, the lawsuit targets Aylo’s failure to adhere to House Bill 1181, which demands stringent age checks and displays of health warnings claiming pornography’s negative effects on mental health and development.

House Bill 1181, challenging websites to verify users are 18 or older and post warnings about pornography’s potential harm, including cognitive impairments and mental health issues, is at the center of this legal battle. Despite these regulations, Aylo’s platforms, notably Pornhub, have been criticized for insufficiently protecting minors from explicit content, merely requiring a simple ‘enter’ click for access.
Seeking to compel Aylo to implement the mandated age verification and health warnings, Texas is also pursuing significant financial penalties, totaling $1.6 million in civil fines plus daily charges accruing since September 19, 2023. This lawsuit underscores Texas’s broader initiative to curtail access to content deemed obscene, extending beyond pornography to include restrictions on drag shows and certain books.
The legal contest over HB 1181 mirrors a wider national debate on internet freedom and content regulation, spotlighting the tension between protecting minors and upholding free speech rights online. As the case progresses, it signifies Texas’s determined stance on internet content governance, echoing similar moves across other Republican-led states. Aylo has yet to respond publicly to the lawsuit, which marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing discourse around digital content regulation and child protection online.

“.CAM” Ranks Among the Top 3 TLDs for Live and Video
WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao — According to data from nTLDStats, with more than 150,000 registered domains, the “.CAM” extension ranks third among new TLDs associated with the adult industry, webcams, live content, and video. It notably ranks ahead of extensions such as .love, .chat, .video, .stream, and .webcam.

One of .cam’s key strengths lies in its simplicity and international appeal. Just three letters are enough to evoke cameras, webcams and, more broadly, the world of video. The term “cam” is widely recognized across many languages, allowing businesses, platforms, and creators to immediately connect their web address with their activity while benefiting from a short and memorable domain name.
Marco Forastieri, Marketing Director of .CAM, said: “.cam’s Top 3 position confirms the strong interest in this extension within the webcam, live, and video ecosystem. This level of adoption demonstrates the relevance of a short, international extension that is directly associated with the uses it represents.”
For Domain.cam, this momentum also highlights the potential of premium .cam domain names. These domains offer businesses, platforms, and creators the opportunity to build a strong, distinctive digital identity that is immediately recognizable on an international scale.
.cam is therefore establishing itself as one of the leading specialized TLDs in its ecosystem, driven by the growth of video, streaming, and live content.

Updated Community Guidelines: Clearer Guidance for Real Streaming Situations
We’ve updated the Community Guidelines to make them clearer, more transparent, and easier to use in everyday streaming situations.

We know it isn’t always easy to understand how a rule applies to a specific moment on camera. The updated Guidelines include clearer explanations and brand-new enforcement notes for relevant policy areas. These notes answer questions we hear most often.
Alongside these practical explanations, the update highlights a key principle behind moderation: context matters. We review the whole situation rather than isolated words, objects, or moments in a broadcast. A single unverified report does not trigger enforcement on its own.
Read the updated Community Guidelines to get a better sense of the platform’s boundaries and what to expect from moderation.
We’ve updated the Guidelines with your experience in mind. Tell us what you think in the community Discord and follow us on Telegram for quick platform news.
